Benedetti the great
Mario Benedetti is one of the most important writers of Latin America. He was born in Uruguay in 1920 and worked at newspapers and magazines for a long time until he was exiled in the 70’s from his country be cause of his political position. Then he lived in Buenos Aires, Lima and Spain where he kept writing. In his career he has wrote more than 80 novel s, short stories and poetry books. Sadly, he died two years ago after a long disease.
Some of his best books are “La Tregua”, “Gracias por el fuego”, “La borra del café”, “Despistes y Franquezas”, and my favourite one “Buzón de tiempo”.
Benedetti is one of my favourites writers be cause he creates characters who seem to have very normal lifes when they’re actually don’t, and he can transform any atmosphere in a beautiful experience.
When I read that he died I felt really sad for two reasons. The first one was that I lost my opportunity to meet a great human been and the second reason was that I lost someone who I could really understand, someone who I really appreciate. The truth is that I lost his company. That day I lost a friend.

My favourite vacations place
Last winter, I went with some friends to a very small town in south of
We stayed there for ten days for free, because one of us had friends who rented the house before we came and they were on vacations. Before we traveled, we bought a lot of food because in Niebla there are no supermarkets, and the few stores there are very expensive.
This place is quiet and cold. It could be a very boring town if you don't go there with some friends because the only entertaiment there is the beach. When we got bored of staring at each other faces all the time, we walked to the street market where the local people sell traditional chilean food like empanadas, chicha and local beer or took a bus to Valdivia where there were more things to do.
However, Niebla wouldn't be a more entertaining place if it had more places to go like restaurants or stores because it's a place to relax. I had a wonderfull time there. This was my best vacation ever.

My first earthquake
The floor started to move so violently that we scared. But it became worst. The street lights moved to both sides very fast, and when we looked to the sky we saw this very bright sparks that iluminated all. I didn't know what was happening, I thought it was the apocalypse.
My boyfriend held me tight and I cryed when I realize that my mom wasn't with me in that moment. I imagened my house collapsing with all my family inside. I wanted to see how my dad was, I wanted it to stop.
Finally, it did. I calmed down and I felt shame for my desperate cry. Then I went up stairs to get dress, but the tremor started again and my boyfriend thought that the house was damaged, so he didn't let me go.
I put my fahter in law's sweat shirt on and we went to see how the neighbors were. Then we took the car and drive to my boyfriend's uncles. They were fine, and I felt sad be cause I couldn't even talk with my family .

This is me...
My life is not too interesting. Weekdays I go to university where I'm studying journalism (my cousin Jason who lives in San Francisco makes fun of me be cause he can`t belive that this carreer lasts 5 years. That makes me feel so embarrassed!). Monday to friday I wake up early in the morning and I come back home late at night. It's pretty sad, be cause I can't find the time to relax. Weekends are different. I stay at my boyfriend's house where we date and eat a lot.
I live in Santiago, I'm 20, and I have a gorgeous sausage dog called Oliver. Also I have a mom, a dad, 3 sisters, one step father, one step mother and 2 step brothers.
